French Ambassador
Maurice
Schumann: When I reached Pondicherry, I found as governor there Francois
Baron, a disciple of Sri Aurobindo steeped in Hindu mysticism, but, above
all, a former volunteer in the Free French forces linked to me by those
ties of loyalty that very rightly still connected … all those who had made
the right choice already in 1940-and not just in 1942-3 or in 1944. And

VISIT OF VINOBA BHAVE
Vinoba
Bhave was known for his great moral qualities and his
selflessness in the Bhoodan movement but his spiritual qualities

have supramental consciousness? How did she get
Sachchidananda without doing the grades? Do you mean to
say she has realised super-mind, that was the question.

An Experiment in Education for
Tomorrow
An unprecedented kind of experiment in
education was launched by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, when in 1943, a
school came to be established at Sri Aurobindo Ashram at Pondicherry
with merely 20 students on its rolls; soon it began to grow, and in
1951, when the number of students had increased, and studies in Higher
Education had to be organised, it was expanded into Sri Aurobindo
International University Centre. Eminent educationists of the country
welcomed the formation of this University Centre, and the foremost
educationist of the country, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji, specially came

That would give an occasion for starting civil disobedience.
