The Destiny of Earth
Though you had not known a brother till I came
And gathered your offered heart into my heart
And with my soul your soul achieved the same,
For those born in the Mother who can part?
Now the days and weeks pass swiftly by
And soon I must return to a well-loved land
Loved and cherished for its panoply,
Not of my soul, (but then, you understand,)
The spirit's voyages are infinite,
No bar its aspiration can restrain,
And as you are possessed of inner sight
Know that I'll return to you again.
Long have I known that all proceeds from Her,
Called by Her what need have we to fear
The spirit's quest, for nothin

Within My Silent Soul
I listened to the singing of the wind
And thought it first a chant-like melody,
A woman's voice it grew, so filled with love
I stood transfixed and let it enter me.
It sang a secret not to be divulged
To the unlistening conceit of man,
It turned a hum that passed into the night
Through frozen windows of the mind it ran.
Again it changed, a drone of destiny
As in some lamp-lit temple in Tibet,
Overtones that built on overtones.
I caught the rhythm, knew the tune and yet
Descending to the valleys of the world
It passed the Gods above the mountain snows.
Earth's song I heard, transformed by heaven's touc
We Must Write
We must write. One should not tempt the muse,
And yet I question worthiness of phrase
And pray for purity to disabuse
The wayward line only meant to praise.
To remember when the words are flowing full
The source of inspiration through the hand,
Remember too at cease or in the lull
When no light dawns, never to demand,
For even in our poverty of thought
A vision may come and music seldom heard,
A glimpse of the immaculate is caught
And we become the channels of the Word.
We shall recall when silence occupies
The mind or thoughts unworthy to repeat,
That when He comes a rapture fills our eyes
And hearts; our poems
Beloved of My Soul
I've known behind Thy smile the Fire's force
Incinerating veils of ignorance,
Igniting at the core this fragile spark.
A look, a blessing touch, a moment's glance
I shall thy grace remember through all time,
Approaching did my spirit recognize
A Mother's smile that holds the universe
A captive of the god-light in her eyes.
Not as a pleasant picture in a frame
Do I a seeker kneel to worship Thee,
Or vast transcendence limitless, unknown,
But beloved of my soul who sets me free.

Prayer to the Service Tree
O venerable tree who silent hears
The prayers and salutations of mankind
Look upon these pilgrim souls in trance
Offering themselves to the enshrined
Who are the dancers of the cosmic dance;
Live and thrive a thousand, thousand years.
Arise, O Soul!
March 9, 2005
And
I in a moment of the soul's distress
Disastrously
descended in darkness' core,
Drawn
a willing spectator to please
The
lower senses' needs and through the door
That
opens wide to let the fallen in,
Was
welcomed by the sly Iniquity
Who
greets the wayward soul with mounting sin
And
promises delights the pure can't see.
Once
inside the caves of ignominy
Where
light is pushed aside to sate the mind
And
thrill the flesh with vital fantasy,
Trapping
the soul as in a hunter's blind,
There
seems no way to leave, no sure escape
From
realms of the forbidden fruits of night,
Yet
if the central being is sincere

In the
Consciousness of Gathered Peace
A
concentrated pressure in the chest
As if a
new-born soul desired light
By breaking
through the thick and hardened shell
That covers
man and blinds his native sight.
The sages
know it is the heart that sees.
Above the
mind the spirit's power grows
In the calm
where no disturbance comes
And in the
silence where the breathing slows
One hears
not by the auditory nerves,
One feels
not by the tacti

In the Truth My Freedom Find
Child with immemorial eyes
Who are the compass of my soul
Come closer that I might excise
The demons who still exert control.
Lead on my spirit to your fields
Of love and laughter and delight
As the darkness in me yields
To the supreme ennobling light.
Teach me to dance, to sing the songs
That fall from Heaven's fount of peace,
All my injustices, my wrongs,
My errant ways help me to cease
And in the Truth my freedom find,
Purified in heart and mind.
Meeting the Beloved
Jan. 21, 2011
There are moments, I suppose
When like a well-oiled machine
Life runs smoothly in its grooves.
But rare the winged peace descends
And earthly bodies touched uplift
With wonder as the awakened soul
Unveils a moment and the gods
Are glimpsed, heart responds to heart
And all the centuries of doubt
Dispelled when love and lover meet.
Sacred Alchemy
We carry so much baggage burdening down
With the weight of reasoning mind's profundity,
Our vital appetites and indulgences,
The heroic godhead struggling to break free.
If only we could focus on the flame
Of aspiration burning at our core
Repeat the mantric word, invoke the Name,
Install within the image we adore.
Earth in its subtle atmosphere prepares
A new material body for its king,
Omnipotent, inviolate and pure.
From eternal realms the grace unperishing
Shall fashion us by a sacred alchemy
Make earth aware of its true divinity.
