Two-In-One My flaws are many and my skills are few The little I have learned would gladly share But heaven's heights are closed to my purview Although at times I breathe a finer air. For I have sought and found the Two-In-One And though I fail and fall and fail again My halting journey hardly yet begun No name is lost in the catalogue of men Who finding the source could not reach the end Through interference of the vital for

On Love^s Betrayal.htm On Love's Betrayal 11/10/07 Now the cruellest blow is struck For one who loved without reserve, Who offered self and deeper self, Received in turn betrayal, death Of all once beautiful and true. Love once thought invincible Was severed as the cord of life As a mother's the umbilical Severs to bring new life to earth. But mine is not new birth but pain Of separation and deceit. I was one who loved unknowingly Of wisdom's guidance unaware Unstruck by truth's lightning rod Who gave as only soul can give, Weighed not another's love on scales That measure the giver and the gift Finding one inadequate. For all that mind and heart

Fire Island I walked along the shore of Fire Island And faced the awesome anger of the sea It was no day for sun and brightened thoughts But violence of waves that threatened me. A vast upheaval of the world seemed near And everything thought possible was churned With all our knowledge in the roiling sand. The sea then spoke to me of beauty spurned And darkness covering the soul of man, It roared dissatisfaction at our kind Who can no longer hear the inner guide For the blaring music drowning heart and mind. I climbed the dunes exhausted and forewarned Returning to the safety of known trees And land that did not sink beneath my feet And fragran

The Silence Above My love does not end with your leaving For it has grown wide and no grieving Can reach to the heights it commands, Encompassing loss and deceiving Spreads open its wings and embracing Your eternal soul makes no demands. Time has run out for bereaving And the ego's thirst for receiving Love in return for its love. I fly above pain, the heart's cleaving And rise into the silence high above.

The One Long-Sought Perfect and pure the fire that burns Smokeless to the original flame, Perfect the soul that can endure And earns the glory of the Name. Imperfect the heart that sorrowing yearns For human joys and vain desires, That feels apart and feels impure Unable to hear the heavenly choirs Approaching earth on soundless feet Touching the offered soul with bliss And drawing near the One long-sought His gift the true transforming kiss.

Children of the Light I have weighed down your wings of angel-flight For the aura of joy no longer fills my days But comes a stranger in a distant hour, An unexpected guest who rarely stays Beyond the falling of the briefest flower Or the passing zephyr's kiss, as fleet As closely held remembrances of love Or the poignant recollection of your feet Moving wounded through the pain you strove To conquer and your energy regain. Eyes dimmed by de

My Father^s Laughter.htm My Father's Laughter My father's laughter touched us all None of our family was immune, When he was bright the children danced Under the waxing autumn moon. But work and fear of poverty Drove him to exceed his strength As he pushed us well beyond our scope In seasons of unendurable length. We toiled in heat and freezing cold And with the greening earth were one Shovel, hoe and pick to us Familiar as the wind and sun. The grading rakes, aluminium, Blackened our sore and callused hands But youth and freedom suffered most. The burning muscles heated strands Persisted throbbing through the night Momentarily reliev

A Face Known Through the Centuries I remain though she is gone A throbbing pain is in my head, Two souls who lived and loved as one No word can see me comforted For in my heart I am alone, Alone and now my years are few And sorrow like a heavy stone Weighs down the spirit that once flew And sought beyond the farthest seas A face known through the centuries.

Heaven^s Touch.htm Heaven's Touch In silent passageways and covert lanes He traced a journey through the inner worlds Arriving at the gateway of the soul. He stood before a door of living light And saw the secret entry through the heart And felt the fire burning in his breast. All the years of searching for the key Condensed upon that mighty beat in time When She with calm and majesty looked down Upon his humbled form and touched his head, A blessing for all ages yet to come.

An Hour Come The mother holds the lifeless child Her eyes are empty red and wild. She sees her husband blown apart In a tableau of the devil's art And love once thought invincible Reduced and severed by a will To conquer and the Light betray And lead the saintly soul astray. The world with evil seethes and spews It venom and would fain confuse, There is in man a pressing need And in the soil the truth-light's seed That shall in an unsuspecting hour Rise up and suddenly overpower The demons that seemed the lords
