Since
Time Began
March
17, 2011
Wisps of fog come drifting through the
trees,
Majestic soaring of the regal firs,
A sun-edge cloud blown by a steady breeze,
And in my heart a deep emotion stirs.
Ascending through the serried realms of
light
I soar on golden wings my soul to rest
And on the boughs of ancient trees alight.
This world is made for beauty, not a test
Or trial we must endure for Paradise,
The promise for the good and faithful few
Who enter as the heavenly minstrel cries
Welcome, welcome, welcome, to each of you!
Earth is the place where men and angels
meet
Upon this soil where the blood of ages ran;
Look on its loveliness, so gran

To Build the Golden
Chrysalis
Sept. 8, 2011
I would like when I walk through the final door
To remember all things beautiful and true,
With no regrets sail to a unknown shore
And blue horizons as your eyes were blue.
Though when you left a part of me left too.
Now age upon me comes and fierce my toil
Still incomplete with battles to be won,
Fought on hard and unforgiving soil.
The feeling persists – I have not yet begun
Nor inward turned to greet the inner sun,
Aware so clearly now that I must seek
The golden chrysalis to build, prepare.
This work of change is not for the timid or weak
Who fear to climb the steep and narrow stair
Why
I Came
April
4, 2011
Something in the stillness softly calls,
A voice that seems my own from depths
within,
Despite the unplanned errors of the days
And the unconsciousness gropings in the dark.
Where the centre lies I cannot say,
Aware of only fragments of a truth
That lies in me and yet is hid from view.
I only know that this is why I came,
For the beauty of the Way on which I go,
The challenge and the daring of the game,
To unearth the secret held within this
clay,
The reason why my soul
takes birth in time.

India, Our State of Grace
April 15, 2011
I left the heat and humidity,
Mosquitoes and the monsoon rain,
Returned to a cold but friendly land
Where I was welcomed back again.
It is gentler here, the body at ease.
The pressure less and less the pain,
But there the soul is witness to
The future that on earth shall be
When we have left the past to die.
We who live in eternity
Must find the one who lives in us ,
Be done with such stupidity
To speak of things we do not know
Yet believe we truly understand.
A day shall come when all shall see
The miracle our souls demand
A vessel of the High command
Who knows earth as our dwellin

The Consciousness of God
Feb. 24, 2011
He trims the lamp and calls the Presence in
And when it comes he lives within the flame.
All things are known to him, the inner sight
Opens as a flower bud unfolds.
Witness of all that is destined still to come
Prophet, sanctified through birth and birth,
Guide and friend who counsels in the night
The striving soul walking the sharp edged lanes,
The byways where the fruits of falsehood grow
And all temptations on the upward route.
In his calm demeanour all he sees
But judges not the sinner or the saint
Above the mind he sees that all are one
A few ahead and few behind, but all
Destined to realize the soul one day

This
World Must Change

Once again this painful
memory
As I listen to a haunting
choral work
'O Sacrum Convivium'
intoned
Over and over again these

Resound in me yet only
sadness reigns
And the sorrow of the
world on me descends.
I pass a paraplegic in a
chair
Pushed resolutely by a
wizened hag
And in the chair it is
myself I see,
Head immense, lolling,
the twisted form,
Distorted face,
passionless and mute.
The tears unbidden flow –
this world must change
And grief give room for
joy to take its stand.
So shall the Overman

Be born into this world
of human clay,

Sept. 8, 2011
Eerie atmosphere as if the sun
Were hidden by an opaque veil of ash
A stillness too that silences the leaves
And the loud world to a moment's rest.
It is the hour of the great eclipse,
No birds sing and stifled the cricket's cry
As suddenly the earth a stranger seems
To one accustomed to the day and night.
An unknown scent drifts upon the air.
Almost a frightening witching hour comes
In the heavy sky when day has turned to dusk.
One stands alone wondering if this
Was how the world began before the Word
Brought light and the first greening came.
Perhaps a landscape on the cusp of time
Before the mighty OM, the primal sound

Mother and Queen
There are times one feels the heart is gone
And all one's will in ashes too
The past one wanted to be done
Comes rushing back with force anew.
For deep within us darkness hides
And only Fire can burn it out
But there is one whose voice misguides
Instilling in the mind the doubt
That one can tread the chosen path.
Desire like a dress that clings,
Impatience spurring on self-wrath
The insignificance of things
That settle in the physical mind,
Tenants who have overstayed
Their welcome, but alas we find
Arisen demons we thought were slayed.
It does not seem earth will survive
To those who view the out

Only the Soul Within
The weakening circles of the wearing mind
That spins in old and worn familiar grooves,
Nothing it can know or truly find,
A chess-pawn with its fixed and formal moves.
Nothing can desire's will achieve,
Its turbulence unable to retain
The higher truth it cannot yet perceive,
Singing still the vital-life's refrain.
Body too is helpless in the flow
And drifts down slowly towards entropy,
Only the soul within can truly know
The present, past, and future that will be.

God's Intent
We who have seen with worshipping eyes
A brightness in the atmosphere,
A clearness as of rain-washed skies
From every distant land drew near
To look on loveliness and grace
Of one who has descended here
And bear the piercing diamond eyes
And the beauty of a perfect face.
Now neither death nor suffering
Can halt the golden ray's descent
Or stay the earth's full blossoming
Or the glory that is God's intent.
