The Master - June 23, 1968 A lamp is lit and hostile though the night Sustained and carried immaculate in light The image of Him who hears us and draws near. In Him our heights and too our darkest hour, Through us His vision moves our souls to flower.

The Master and The Mother Nov. 1969 Thou art Beauty's child and walkst Within Her glowing robe of Light. Unveiled thy luminous soul shall find Release from the dull and earthly plight. For all these roads our labour treads Suffice to bring us nearer still In silence to the golden door Aligning spirit to His will . His eyes of stillness gather all Into Her vast immense embrace.

A New Music - Dec. 3, 1969 Music now with octave's sounds Denotes the harmonies to come. The single Voice's many tones Uphold, sustain these songless rounds. Long have we waited Thy voice to hear With aspiration's flaming soar, In melody's ascending scales, And the heavenly hymns of Terpsichore. We endure the contrapuntal clash Of presences primordial Upon this battlefield of earth To hear the song celestial. Rhythm beats of puissant notes Sound vibrating chords within. To come to Thee a harp of joy And the overture of love begin On strings that to eternal things Are tuned, and let Thy music flow In chants of choral offering.

Guru - Dec. 3, 1969 Vainly do I strive in vain To speak of things when I have no voice, Of visions blinded eyes can't see And ears that music cannot hear. To feel Thy touch upon these days Of breathless stillness silently Awaiting in the fragrant hours Thy hand to lift above the waste Of Time, Thy Feet of Light, my life.

Poems from Another Sphere - Dec. 18, 1968 I am the hidden God in man The Sound that seems a distant flute The Voice that comes in moments mute The seed that grows to understand. Heavy my task in obstinate clay Toil and sorrow disturb my play. Yet slowly I sculpt my form to be And patiently mould myself in thee.

To Mother - A Prayer From Auroville Sweet and sacred lady of the stars Whose simplest movement beckons trails of light To fall in streams upon our earth-hewn heads, Unuttered lies Thy Name upon our lips. Faint breezes stir the sapling soul to wake Amid the perfume of Thy earthly form, The radiating litany of song, Thy Voice, the splendid melody of earth. We bow, O Mystery, before Thy Feet While colours unnameable fill the fragrant air The incense of Thy Love, Thy Smile, Thy Touch, To soar to heights unknown our struggling flame. Intone, O Might, the Canticle of Life That dying men or men yet hardly born May wake to golden strains with

A SONG TO THE MOTHER OF ALL WORLDS October 1993 Sounds fill me with sound, the earth around, O splendid holy sound the seas surround. Light beckons me, bright celestial light. O Love that I might with grave unalloyed delight Touch once more those seer and radiant feet And gaze on eyes where earth and heaven meet. Mother, Mira,

Thanksgiving November 1998 For the beauty of the Light I thank Thee, For the tread of Thy Feet on earth I thank Thee, For those who aspire for Truth I thank Thee, For the descent of Thy Grace I thank Thee, For Thy human emissaries I thank Thee, For the flowers, divine on earth I thank Thee, For companions on the path I thank Thee, For Thy touch upon my days I thank Thee.
