How the sound of O......M saved my life
By
Amal Sircar - in a letter to Narad
I have read about what Sri Aurobindo and the Mother have
written or spoken about the "very powerful word"..."AUM".
I never imagined that the mantric sound of "OM" would save
my life.
In 1986 I was suffering from acute bouts of coughing,
especially after taking food. Many doctors examined me and prescribe
tests and medicines, without any success. My physical condition was
deteriorating fast.

OM Choirfor the Children
March 18,2010
This morning at Latso's invitation I met with the 16children in his class, age 7-8 years, and spoke to them about singing OM andbringing down the New Music. Angina (spelling), Latso and another teacher werethere as well. The children were deeply concentrated, listening to all that wasbeing said about taking care of their voice, etc. We first did hummingand then called Mother and Sri Aurobindo to be with us and we went deep withinto hear the New Music. As the children only speak French, Angina had totranslate. The children were very quiet and attentive. We sattogether in a circle as Mother had told us and sang a long OM and many of t

EXPERIENCES IN THE OM
CHOIR
The following
experiences are those shared by a number of people who have attended the
OM Choirs in Auroville at Savitri Bhavan
and in the Ashram in the Sri Aurobindo
Centre of Education. Many others have had instances of healing,
peace, and beauty and have spoken to me personally. No names are
given as most wish to remain anonymous.
Although this
is not the essential part of the OM Choir which is to bring down the New
Music through our human bodies, into our cells and into the earth, a
music of transformation and effectuation, throug

Dear Narad,
Many thanks for your
note. I'm so glad you liked the talk -- your appreciation means so much
to me!
And thank you for the
offer to finance a video of the presentation ... I would have never
thought of that, as it seems like anyone with a camcorder could just
point and shoot -- for free! But it may be that making a video of a
person giving a slide show requires a bit of professional know-how.
Someone did take a video of me once, but the slides in the background
were so bright that they backlit the recording, so all that can be seen
of me is a silhouette. A

Dream: A few days after the first Om choir which Narad
facilitated at his return for this Winter season 20009/10
I had a dream which expanded on the set up and energy of the
weekly OM Choir in Savitri Bhavan.
In it a very charged atmosphere was felt; in spite that
the hall was packed full it was very concentrated and silent.
I looked around and saw that there were people everywhere,
even outside, in the amphitheater, the courtyard ,the garden... all ready
in anticipation of the next sound wave to start and descend. And suddenly
it fe

That night I lay down as usual, when after some
time a dream started. It is not unusual for me that I become
aware of the dreaming and do not wake up but stay with the
dream, and that is what I did here.
In the dream I found my self in the French Alps.
I saw great big mountains with s

Auroville OM
Choir
During our recent trip to the Sri
Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville, I had a few experiences especially
at the march-pass before the mass display in the sports ground and
with the OM Choir and visiting Sri Aurobindo's room on 5 Dec Darshan.
I was at fist skeptical about the
OM Choir. I believe in the power of OM but why it is called a choir.
The answer was revealed to me during the OM Choir session held at
Savitri Bhavan.
The OM Choir of about one hundred
people who were mostly non-professional singers began with the
singing of the first five notes of the western music major key as
warming up exercises. This is t

OM Choir in Russia
February 26, 2005
A few nights ago I had the strong impression of a voice saying,
'There
must be an OM Choir in Russia.' I
felt this to be exactly true, the next step in the progression of OM Choirs
throughout the world chanting their aspiration to the Divine for the descent of
the New Music and the New World.
But, how to begin this choir?
The next morning I was walking on the Ashram street near the Post
Office and a young man, Dimitri, approached me. He said, 'We would like to begin an OM Choir in Russia. Would you help us?' Last night the members of a group from
Russia that had come with Dimitri joined the adult voice class and we sang OM together.

The Ocean Chants…
(Image Sourced from motherandsriaurobindo.org)
A vastness as the ocean fills the place. A silence crawls in
as of the depths - more meaningful than the depths of the ocean. It is
Profound. The waves from the ocean are meant to reach the shore of the
Divine and wash the lotus feet of our Sweet Mother.
The place has a living presence in it - a place where
Savitri, the legend and a symbol, is studied and lived. It carries the
purity. A wide room with a mounting ceiling is readied every Tuesday for
the Eternal Music to descend. Chairs are arranged in concent
