And one day, you ask
yourself, "But then, why is one born? Why does one die? Why does one
suffer? Why does one act?"
You no longer live like a little machine, hardly half-conscious.
You want to feel truly, to act truly, to know truly. Then, in
ordinary life one search for books, for people who know a little
more than oneself, one begins to seek somebody who can solve these
questions, lift the veil of ignorance....
We can, simply by a sincere aspiration, open a sealed door in us
and find... that Something which

The Formless and the Formed were
joined in her.
Immensity was exceeded by a look,
A Face revealed the crowded Infinite.
Incarnating inexpressibly in her limbs
The boundless joy the blind world-forces seek,
Her body of beauty mooned the seas of
bliss.
At the head she stands of birth and toil and fate,
In their slow round the cycles turn to her call;
Alone her hands can change Time's dragon base.
Hers is the mystery the Night
conceals;
The spirit's alchemist energy is hers;
She is the golden bridge, the wonderful fire.
The luminous heart of the Unknown is she,
A power of silence in the depths of God;
She is the Force, the inevita

To the soul that wholly gives itself to him, God also gives himself altogether.
Only the one who offers his whole nature, finds the Self. Only the one who can
give everything, enjoys the Divine All everywhere.
Sri Aurobindo

Our Path
To walk on the path you must have a dauntless intrepidity,you must
never turn back upon yourself with this mean, petty, weak, ugly
movement that fear is.
An indomitable courage, a perfect sincerity,
a total selfgiving to the extent that you do not calculate or bargain,
you do not give with the idea of receiving, you do not offer yourself
with the intention of being protected, you do not have a faith that
needs proofs, — this is indispensable foradvancing on the path, — this
alone can shel

The sadhana of inner
concentration consists in:
1. Fixing the consciousness in the heart and
concentrating there on the idea, image or name of the Divine Mother,
whichever comes easiest to you.
2. A gradual and progressive quieting of the mind by
this concentration in the heart.
3. An aspiration for the Mother's presence in the
heart and the control by her of mind, life and action.
But to quiet the mind and get the spiritual
experience it is necessary first to purify and prepare the nature.

...if we desire to
make the most of the opportunity that this life gives us, if we wish
to respond adequately to the call we have received and to attain to
the goal we have glimpsed, not merely advance a little towards it, it
is essential that there should be an entire self-giving. The secret of
success in Yoga is to regard it not as one of the aims to be pursued
in life, but as the one and only aim, not as an important part of
life, but as the whole of life.
Sri Aurobindo
