The seed of
Godhead sleeps in mortal hearts,
The flower of Godhead grows on the world-tree:
All shall discover God in self and things.
But when God's messenger comes to help the world
And lead the soul of earth to higher things,
He too must carry the yoke he came to unloose;
He too must bear the pang that he would heal:
Exempt and unafflicted by earth's fate,
How shall he cure the ills he never felt?

Thou hast come down
into a struggling world
To aid a blind and suffering mortal race,
To open to Light the eyes that could not see,
To bring down bliss into the heart of grief,
To make thy life a bridge twixt earth and heaven...

Supramental Manifestation upon Earth

This evening the Divine Presence, concrete and material, was there
present amongst you. I had a form of living gold, bigger than the
universe, and I was facing a huge and massive golden door which
separated the world from the Divine.
As I looked at the door, I knew and willed, in
a single movement of consciousness, that "the time has come ,
and lifting with both hands a mighty go

If
mankind could but see though in a glimpse of fleeting experience what
infinite enjoyments, what perfect forces, what luminous reaches of
spontaneous knowledge, what wide calms of our being lie waiting for us
in the tracts which our animal evolution has not yet conquered, they
would leave all and never rest till they had gained these treasures.

Whatever the
appearance we must bear,
Whatever our strong ills and present fate,
When nothing we can see but drift and bale,
A mighty Guidance leads us still through all.
