Modern Life's Prescription.htm Modern Life's Prescription A materia medica for the wounded soul A pharmacopoeia of temporal cures, The transient unsatisfying dole From worldly forces casting us their lures While the inner life is in abeyance held. We are thrown from satisfaction to desire, Our lives are tossed and errantly propelled Along a grounded view that climbs no higher Than mind's conceptions or our earth-bound state. We walk as mendicants in regal clothes Bound in hoops by the whims of time-born fate Ignoring the god within who slowly grows Through shocks and stimuli on his inward quest, The silent One, the great and unknown Guest.

For Ved Prakash Sri Aurobindo is My Refuge Gazing on Thee I speak Her name, Remembering Her, think of Thee Invoking Thy grace Her smile I see And through Her face Thy majesty. I've touched Her feet and known His peace And through Their love the soul's release From darkness and the swift increase Of light that set my heart aflame.

Aspiring Through the Darkness When darkness closes in upon itself And the pitch of night encompasses our day, A cloak of black obscurity denies The soul's advance within the fragile clay. Dull and errant are our leaden steps When even the sun seems cast in shades of grey, Laboured our breath and stilled the voice within As we meet our demons past come back to play. This we must face, the karma of old deeds Returned to haunt the traveller on the way, Till we expunge the residue of lives Of lust and littleness that hold us prey
Resource name: /E-Library/Disciples/Narad/English/Poems by Narad/Poems_2000/Go Deeper.htm
For Huta Go Deeper Upon the crested wave my prayer resounds And in the susurration of the leaves, Burns with the stars in their mute nocturnal rounds And soars aloft on the scented morning's breeze. Still petals of the flowering soul within Reflect the light of a deity so fair Descending on the fragrance of tuberose and jasmine He enters in silence perfuming the sanctified air. All moves towards this hidden core of peace; Renewed, the questing spirit deeper goes To realms where all our worldly actions cease. A piercing ray of wisdom downward flows To charge the mind with vast celestial speech And words transcendent beyond thought

Prayer of Aspiration February 2000 We carry so much baggage burdening down With the weight of reasoning mind's profundity, Our vital appetites and indulgences, The heroic godhead struggling to break free. If only we could focus on the flame Of aspiration burning at our core Repeat the mantric word, invoke the Name, Install within the image we adore. Earth in its subtle atmosphere prepares A new material body for its king, Omnipotent, inviolate and pure. From eternal realms the grace unperishing

Emerging in Light -God into Man, Man into God Moving through aeonic stillnesses I am born and reborn Describing the ever-expanding spiral, divinity's plunge into night, I am rain, I am sun, mysterious hum of the universe am I, Out of nothing I appear in the heart of man who is God in His dreaming, All the ages foretold in the stone and the sea the day of my coming. Ever the millenniums appear and my birth is a sign of the future That swift on the paths of perfection moves, the witness of God in becoming. I am the living present and past, the future descends on my footfalls, The energy of stars, source of the planets and visible ethe

Remembrance of Her Gaze Sept. 25, 1970 All beautiful is that Thou hast touched Or looked upon or fleeting, passed; Eyes tearful now once held Thy gaze, A sun-burst in the infinite vast. Walled centuries surround the thought, A syllabus of desire's role; Life's yearning buds await the day When love shall flower over all.

Sacred Flowers - November 20, 1970 Surrounded by flowers of infinite hues Beguiling and charming the heart to adore, Temporal visions, mystical views The chrysalis soul, the hidden core.
Resource name: /E-Library/Disciples/Narad/English/Poems by Narad/Early Poems_1970/Evolutionary Threads.htm
Evolutionary Threads - April 1970 A metempsychosis in evolving time, A unity of unremembered births, A chain and link of fierce Promethean woe, An end unseen by a momentary veil, The numbing shadow cast by Truth's inverse, The search for That which latent lies within. In poem's mantra and in music's chant A timeless sculptor chisels tirelessly To evoke a hidden God from stubborn clay. The residue of former selves may serve In part to answ

WHEN... When the far calls near and the sound is heard Of silent songs in tones of gold, In tireless rhythms, rapture's dance, The one who treads divine with feet unscathed The burning breast of earth, the One For whom the ages yearn has come. O mighty hand, heal all our scars, And wipe the stain of tears from eyes That never clear could never see Thy Face, that makes of sun a moon, Reflecting Thy Omnipotence.
