Return to the Ashram Through all the years of wandering We once again return To the fount of light by sun-drenched shores Where the inner fires burn. Mother - 2nd Version March 1, 1999 For simply to be is a blessing unparalleled, To resound with Her call and all the being rejoice Radiant in Her smile; to have been held By the melodious majesty of Her voice. To have knelt in utter stillness open and bare, Her hand upon the offered head and there To have felt Her Presence, breathed Her celestial air, As she blessed for all ages the soul before her chair. One feels in the inmost chamber rising and swift A fire ablaze forcing time's barriers to break Instilling Her For

To Mary Helen --- The Soul in Gratitude Reflecting Nov. 22, 1999 Prayers not for self but for the tender soul Who sweetly through the years companions me Through nights of pain and sorrow, days of joy On all the cherished avenues of life. Late evening, Feb. 20, 1999 - Mother’s birthday in India Sonnet to The Mother Still by Her feet my soul awoke And the crust of ego’s hardness broke, Within the heart Her brilliant flame And deep inside installed, the Name. In that little room in a burning land She blessed me with her radiant hand And smiled a smile that grew a fire Igniting within the heart’s desire. Full forty years have nearly flown And the fledgling spirit hardly grown Through long travail and late awaking Sees through clouds a new sun breaking.

Inner Vision 9/16/99 I saw the world with the subtle inner eye And through life's senseless rush a sudden hush Descended as beauty declaimed our destiny. I woke anew to green and the sudden flush Of fall, and joy in all that weeps and sings, My breath drew deep and with a swift inrush I knew love would survive in earthly things.

Autumn's Leaves.htm Autumn's Leaves The colours of love abide in autumn's leaves, Their hues imprinted long before the green Of chlorophyll transforms to breathless might The full and forceful flowering of light That breaks such miracles on jaded eyes Its photosynthesis from sun-filled skies, The wonder of an earth so rarely seen Save to the wakened eye that all perceives.

Remembrancer of Bliss To Seyril August 1999 Remembrancer of bliss in the fields of youth, In verdant valleys where the fledgling spirit soared Free in the winds and stars of childhood, rejoicing. In hamlets and houses and cities and far countries roamed, In the faces and colours of earth's unnumbered souls We found thee and in our manifest years on earth We grow to thy light as blossoms a happy branch. To the senseless clamour and ever-increasing speed Of a blinded life whose frenetic whirling pace A chimera seems, the silent ca

Unexpected Guest October 1999 Softly an unexpected snow Alights on autumn leaves Only a moment's magic though, Embracing the burning trees. Winter's white has come too soon Its touch dissolved by noon.
