Song
For A Beautiful Soul
Aug. 23, 2011
I set aside desire's hands
To see you as you truly are
A vision come from eastern lands
Or fallen from some distant star,
A miracle of flowering grace
A song that quickens in my heart
The haunting beauty of your face
A Masterpiece of the Maker's art.
And yet I know that you are more
Than hand might touch or eye might see,
A living goddess to adore
A wave of laughter charming me
To silence as I gaze awhile
And bask in the sunlight of your smile.

The Reign of Evil Ends
April 8, 2011
Now the darkness fast descends,
On earth the broken bodies lie
Terrorism takes its toll
Beneath an ever watchful eye
That sees and knows and sanctions all
Till evil from our hearts is gone
And lifted is death’s sombre pall,
The Light of Truth on earth is won
And the reign of evil ends.
This Being Yields
May 16, 2011
Who
within this body cries
Against
the worlds atrocities
Who
counsels me to seek within
To find the cause of life's disease?
Who
comes in dreams to counsel me
Protect
me from the enemy,
To
conquer my desires and fears
And
turns me towards divinity.
Who
guides these hands, this wayward mind
That
before the hour I may find
What
I have sought through endless years
Sought
and found though still half blind,
Who
am the more I must become
Though
body slows and senses numb
And
often feel the hour nears
Yet
will not yield though burdensome
This
pain that gnaws yet slowly heals.

Dreams
July 17, 2011
Once more a rush of dreams that correspond
To nothing I have known or felt before
It seems as if malignant forces try
To enter through the inner sanctum's door.
They fail, for I am undisturbed and wake
To view them as they truly are, unreal
To soul experience, but now must learn
The reason why they intrude and why I feel
When deep in sleep, uneasiness and pain
That those I love should act with venomous
zeal,
Unnatural with harsh unloving word
And all the calm supporting me unseat.
Love
All
July 20, 2011
"Love all, no exceptions", said the voice,
Not as command but speaking to my soul.
Clearly it spoke, I heard and shall obey,
See the faults of others as my faults,
Meet hostility and violence with calm,
Returning love in every circumstance
And realize that I must grow within,
Myself to change who cannot change the
world
By outward means, but gaining peace within
Amid the despoliation and deceit
Of forces inimical to life and love.
The daily prayer must be of offering,
Surrender to the One ingeniously
Hidden in the seed and in the stone,
To dedicate the self, this breathing clay,
Past, present and future give to him
And
Moment
of Release
July 15, 2011
In the signal moment of a soul's release
When it floats above the body it has borne
And looks upon an earth well-known
and loved,
A frame that time has ebbed away and worn,
Blesses those who cherished through the
years
The love it gave and more than love
returned,
Departing now to realms of rest and bliss
To see again the spheres from which it
turned
To feel again the thrill of rapture's kiss,
Descended here in a dense human mould
Our sorrow's tears should cease and pain be brief
The tale of birth and death a story told
By those who now no longer suffer grief
United with the splendour at its source,

Song
of the Youthful Soul
March 10, 2011
O sing to me of summer
and the days
When beauty walked unwounded through the
land
Our fathers held in reverence, with praise
To unknown gods they tilled with conscious
hand.
O teach me all the secrets of the earth,
How flowers yield their fragrance to the
sky,
The wonderment and mystery of birth
And life; why
sadness comes and love must die.
O sing to me of
our lost harmony,
How man creates and why he must destroy,
Of beauty's touch and instants of ecstasy,
Why sorrow tinges every face of joy.
O teach me to find my soul that dwells
within
And know myself a being born of light,
Freed from th
Roses
March 24, 2011
I have known you roses, far across the sea
Braving the blistering humidity,
Your beauty tried in a struggle to survive.
In your home of light do you remember me?
I have seen you, roses, where the cool
Pacific winds
Anoint you with their fleeting fog that
binds
Lover to lover who would forever live
Far from the ugliness of human minds
Who distort and darken beauty with their
thought.
O roses with the power poets sought
When poetry and rhythm were alive
And metred the soul of loveliness you
caught
Surviving in hostile climates to withstand
Torrential rain, to grow
upon the sand.
In the harshest of conditions still you
thrive

The
Vision Into Which I Grow
March 11, 2011
I have lived a dream of Auroville and prayed
For peace among the
scattered tribes of men.
A fateful hand upon my head was laid
That I might not relive
the past again.
In my heart a deepened longing stirs
For beauty and the advent of the light,
Majestic soaring of the solemn firs
And countless stars upon
the loom of night.
Here the land is difficult and hard
To penetrate its clay and gravel base
But I was called by the voice of God
And carried to this dry and barren place
To plant, to labour, that I in time might
know
Myself and the vision into
which I grow.

The Mark of Divinity
August 12,
2011
Open the doors of wonder
And the casements of shuttered
night
Let break upon the wakening soul
A vision bathed in light.
Release from the grasp of darkness
This being trodden down
By pain and ignorance and death
That God may spring full-grown
From that which now is clay
Mould a living form of thee
Thy image from our dust
That closed and blinded eyes may
see
In all the mark
of divinity.
