Let My Song Burst Forth
I tread on paths of light with darkened soul
Seeking in the recesses of mind
And the unending labyrinth of thought
The thread of all lives past that led me here,
To purge from vital self the gross impure,
From ego-self the separative sense
Awaking consciousness that lay asleep
In the folds of blissful ignorance to rise
And lead this being so ordained, Narad,
The mediator who stands between two worlds,
The heavens and an earth in transience.
Let my song burst forth O heavenly Queen
And resonate in hearts that seek and pray
Fearful of mortal life's brief passage here,
Desirous so of truth distilling pe
The Divinity in All
9/7/09
Here among the oak and maple trees
So dense the sun comes dancing like a jewel
Reflected in the verdant, glowing leaves
I too reflect on the infallible
Purpose of our evolution's goal.
These days are soil for many a leafy thought,
Revelations come without a call,
I meditate on those whose lives are fraught
With trouble and appalling days of loss
And those who in this flying world are caught
By circumstance or karmic woes across
The spectrum of their lives, who fought
Through cycles of unending births in time.
Yet there are those possessed of deep belief
Who welcome the challenge and the perilous climb,
Such a Simple Dream
All is beautiful now
In this midnight hour
And I am filled with peace,
Waking from a dream
In which I heard her speak
This once in seven years.
She said, 'Willoughby
(Our great white Persian cat)
Is a bit under the weather.'
Indeed, he looked scruffy
But sidled over to me
And I lightly scratched his head
And woke immersed in calm.
Such a simple dream
To bring this strange delight,
Bathing me in bliss.

In the Ashram's Atmosphere
11/1/09
Are we alone the ones who love and care,
Who believe the spirit fills our mortal air?
Look closely at surrounding joy awhile,
The heart of youth, the conscious infant's smile
The gleeful dance of children and compare
The stillness in the mendicant and thief,
The athlete's concentration and belief,
Force coiled within the beauty of its form,
The avatar protecting all from harm
Who lifts from us the heavy cloak of grief,
The yogi in whose eyes we see a light
That draws us like a beacon from our night,
The singer and the song that is his soul
The actor who responds to an inner call

A Force Magnificent
10/12/09
Even in this turbid world
where men
Prefer the darkness of
their mortal state
To planes of knowledge
that lean down to earth,
I see a glory in the
burning leaf,
The beauty and the
brilliance and the dance
Of Nature unconvinced of
death and time,
Splendid in her grandiose
displays,
Who shall outlast the
scourge of death and greed
And hollow faiths that
mutilate and kill
Evolving soul, the jewel
behind the heart.
A force magnificent,
untouched by fate
Or our sophisticated
weaponry
Is now at work and one
day shall transform
Our suffering, our pain,
our false desires
To the bliss of higher

On Seeing Sai Baba on YouTube
Did you see him in his saffron robe
Walking slowly as they touched his feet,
An aura of freedom and a wealth of grace
As some Russian boys sang softly, sweet,
Oche Nash, a modern 'Lord's Prayer'.
I watched and then a peace came over me
And knew one day my faults would fall away
Embraced by love as an island by the sea.
What a marvel of our age YouTube is,
All the music of my youth is there,
Artistic beauty for all to see and hear
A temple built of song and often prayer.
Transcendent moments that draw the Godhead near.
Light-Filled Land
I took the reins of the morning sun
And rode upon its silver rays
My time on earth was not yet done,
Before me lay a thousand ways
And dreams I had not dreamed before
Of love the gift and joy new -found,
When through the spirit's open door
I saw a vision and heard the sound
Of anklet bells in a distant clime.
A child of God came near to me
In a place where no one measured time,
It seemed a gold eternity.
I recognized my being there,
No longer aged, no longer worn
But young among the young and fair,
In that light-filled land reborn.
Words From Above
9/18/09
You want peace? You struggle, weep,
Devising methodologies
To keep the warring
tribes at bay,
And yet within you peace
has fled;
Turbulent mind and
troubled heart
Keep peace away and
stifle love.
Establish first the peace
within,
No outward violence
disturb
Its luminous and silver
reign,
The roiling waters of
your being
Calm, the restless vital
nature
Still, the tranquil mind
receive
That peace imbue with
strength and grace
The mission for which
your soul has come.
Trust in That alone, the
force
Divine, of the
transforming power.
Lost Soul - April 25, 1974
Where the unknown Musician sits in trance
And the puppet performs his programmed dance,
A form half-knowing
executes,
My soul unable to advance.

A form half-knowing moved by Chance,
The spirit struggling to advance.
